The Caucasian countries (Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan and Georgia) are less influenced from their Soviet past in comparison with Central Asia. That means that the corruption of everyone who has some kind of power is huge in Caucasian countries too, but it doesn’t affect travellers. The police officers treat foreigners right.

   The import of your vehicle in the country is allowed for a maximum duration of 72 hours, except if you give at the border a four-digit amount of dollars as guarantee. The amount of money depends on the price of your vehicle in theory, but in practice it depends on the officer’s will. When you will leave the country, they will return you your money at the border you will exit. I have heard only one who did that. He took his money back, but he had to call a few days earlier to inform them about the border he will use, in order to transfer his money to that border. Despite that, when he went there, he had to wait for a few hours for the money.

I covered only 484 km. (301 miles) in 3 days in Azerbaijan.
