All the countries where I traveled were interesting and charming, but the one that amazed me the most was Tajikistan. It is very hard for me to choose one country as my favorite, but when I am often asked to do so, I answer with a small hesitation: “Tajikistan”. Having ridden 2,514 km. (1,562 miles) in this country, 1,170 km. (727 miles) of these were off-road, which means 47%! That is a proper proportion! I keep Tajikistan in my heart for its beautiful and unspoiled nature, its wilderness, the demanding but yet wonderful riding into the wild, away from the tarmac and, most of all, for its warm, friendly people living in the small smoking huts up in the mountains.
