My lifetime affair with traveling started at a very young age, partly thanks to my scattered across the globe extended family. I started off in Europe and gradually made my way to more continents. Ever since I can remember, my dream was to live outside of Greece and to get to know as many places as possible, which I realised at the age of 19. I have spent five years in the U.K. and a further five years in Switzerland. As I had always wanted to mingle with the people around me, I have developed a network of friends and acquaintances all around the world, who I visit whenever I get the chance. So far I have traveled in around 40 countries and hope to travel in a lot more soon.
I generally prefer to visit countries where I have acquaintances, who will show me places that are off the tourist beaten track. I am also very interested in local cuisines, especially if they are spicy! My favourite trips have so far been Northern Thailand, Peru, Iceland, Nepal and Bhutan. Another childhood dream of mine has been to overland around Europe (followed by the world) in a van and the time has finally come!
