Planning a journey without first making a stop at the Travel Bookstore? No way!
It was impossible for me to wait until May to start my trip… So I decided to pop down to Swaziland and Kenya, after a short stop in Ivory Coast and Lesotho… to tell you the truth I also grabbed some chocolates on my way through Switzerland! 😉
What started as a short stop in the Travel Bookstore, ended up to be a six-hour visit, making myself at home! And I was not surprised to find myself there again the next day, just like making a day trip!
It was really not my fault… I could not resist exploring this fascinating bookstore! It is the paradise on earth for every traveller! The material you can find in every single corner is a small treasure. You can find guidebooks and maps of, literally, every part of this planet, and in a stunning variety! I was left speechless by finding so easily maps of countries such as Benin, Burundi or Uganda. To my surprise, the variety of the maps for every country was so wide that I had to spend hours comparing them, in order to choose the proper one for every region we plan to visit.
One of the most important tools for this trip of mine is the Lonely Planet guidebooks that, as I repeatedly commented during my journey in Asia, are extremely reliable, objective and, most important, accurate, as they get updated every four years maximum. Simply priceless!
No need to say that I left the bookstore with my motorbike’s panniers fully loaded! The Travel Bookstore is sponsoring us by offering every guidebook and map we need for our expedition. We have already started to study them thoroughly… After all, a journey starts by planning it! How magical that can be… it almost feels like being on the road, planning the itineraries and crossing the vast lands of Africa!
Travel Bookstore, thank you so much for offering us all this material so kindly and for giving us a small taste of travelling!
